Susie Jordan (she/her/hers)

Bio

I am a volunteer research assistant in the BEAVERS Lab. I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2023. I am from Salem, where I still reside with my children and our two heelers. I am a licensed substitute teacher in the Salem-Keizer School District.

As an undergraduate, I was a single mom to 4 talented and beautiful daughters. While I was juggling full-time schooling, I also worked full-time as an educator with a focus on literacy. During that time, I held various positions on the elementary school’s Parent Teacher Club executive board, including president and vice president.

I am grateful for the learning and opportunities provided to me in the BEAVERS Lab. My excitement and dedication to the lab positioned me to train fellow research assistants on lab protocols. Additionally, the clinical training that I have received to help me in screening and running participants has been invaluable to my future goal of pursuing a clinical psychology PhD. The ability to balance work, family life, and my educational goals reflects the strength of my support system.

I am interested in childhood trauma, addiction, and educational psychology with an emphasis on social and emotional learning. I am eager to learn more about how these different areas intersect.
